The Alluring Kalash Tribe

The Kalash tribe living in the remote valleys of Rambur, Bamburet, and Brir in Chitral district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is considered to be decedents from wandering armies of Alexander the Great. They are quite different from rest of the population in the region, their fair complexion resembling to that of Europeans, unique architecture, appealing costume, distinctive Kalasha language, mythical religion, and cultural celebrations. The population of Kalash is only in couple of thousands people but the origin of this very tribe is still ambiguous. The Kalash valleys are accessible by 4WD jeeps from Chitral and the valleys also offer beautiful day hikes.
